yeah its great for getting to know loads of people as there are about 20 ppl per floor and you can just walk between floors and go knocking on doors to meet new ppl!

however, being catered can lack privacy of having your own flat and it can be really hard to keep food in the fridge as it tends to get stolen! (also the building structure is based on a sweedish prison!)

im going to ricky road all the way (hopefully!)

I'm staying in CL atm, and the only thing that annoys me this semester is the incredible noise all the drunken idiots make when they come back from a night out in the toon.
There have been just a handful of firealarms this semester though.
At least the kitchen on our floor tends to be a mess, and I usually store everything from pans to food I need on the weekend in my room (some milk and other things magically disappeared last semester).
Depending on who your neighbours are and which part of CL you're in you can have quite some fun and meet a lot of new people - dinner's a good occasion to make new friends.

I don't know if the story of the building plans from a swedish prison is true, it might be as true as the urban legend of a cow in Castle Leazes that has been brought upstairs hundreds and thousands of years ago and had to be shot in the end.
