I think you tell you family, it's probably best not to keep things hidden. If you're open and honest, they will probably respect you for it
I haven't told my family but all of my friends know. I don't care what my family think anyway really. If you want them to know, tell them. If you don't really care then don't bother.

Well your parents arent going to get sticks and start poking you "poke the gays" ~contorts face~ They should understand.

My mother always said if i was gay it'd be fine. But im not.

Me and my bf are both 17 and we have been seeing each other for about 6 months now, but neither of us are 'out'. We both want to 'come out' to our families so we can be honest with them, but we don't know what to do if they react bad and stop us seeing each other.

What should we do?

Btw, do your parents follow any religion? Have they mentioned anything about homosexuality before?

Just because you're gay doesnt make you any lesser of a human being so they shouldnt react any differently to you than they did before, you're still their son and they love you no matter what. Dont keep it hidden from them, just be open and honest

What difference should it make to them? My advice would be just to tell them.
Test the water. if you see something in the news about gay marriage etc, make it into a bit of a discussion. See how they react to the whole notion of homosexuality. If they react well, come out. If they seem quite uncomfortable, think about. Will they see past the sexuality? One would hope so. If they shout and scream about immorality, keep it under covers until you leave home.

Only you know your family's opinions on the matter.

But at 17 I would hope they would not dictate who you see, even if they disagree.

But I would come out if at all possible. My aunt did to the family when she was 18. Everyone was brilliant about it.

Please don't refer to homosexuals as if they are insects or pests.
the longer u hide it the harder it will get it. it wont be easy but being honest is the best option here. just remember you have each other for support, and that it may take a while but your families should adjust to the idea in time
