Don't you just love japan, it's melodic language, it's brillient heritage (samuri, the shoguns), not to mention all of the great weapons that orginate within. Then there is of course anime.

Not to sound rude. But Japan is well-known in Asia for pornography, hentai etc...

Rich culture I agree, but moral values seem to be degrading no doubt.

part of what has made japanese culture so rich has been their ability to borrow from other culutres effectivly. For example Japanese language is derived from Chinese and in the 1800s they intensly studied the west and borrowed industrialisation.

Japan's possibly the only country outside the west which has been as or more sucsessful than the west since around 1700 or 1800.

No. Taking account it's history, not very appealing really.

Even though I'm Chinese, I still find the Japanese culture fascinating. If you find this hard to believe, it's like the difference in culture between Britain and France for example. I'm going to learn the language at uni (hopefully) and then visit there later. I would like to live in Tokyo for a year or two at some point as well.

Hentai there might be but at least they aren't afraid and embarassed about it. Most of it ain't hardcore anyways. I'm sure other countries have their own embarassing features as well.
