I think its 0.4 mol l-1 (if you think of 1mol l-1 as 100%) :confused:

40% sugar solution means:
40g in 100ml water

As you are using different solutions the concentration will vary depending on which sugar you are using.

I need to make a 0.25 and 0.5 mol glucose solution so would it be 25g and 50g mixed with 100ml of water? The molecular mass has been put on the container but im unsure how to make the required solutions from it?

I think I am right in saying...

For 0.5 mol....

0.5 x 0.1 = .05

.05 x 180.16(FW) = 9g

So weigh 9g of glucose and dissolve into 100ml of double-distilled water.

Can someone check that is correct? My maths is not the best :redface:

Yeah i think thats right as 1mol is the molecular mass dissolved into one litre of solution. Thank you! :biggrin:
