It happens to everyone, however there is generally a reason for it, eg. one might feel anxious due to impending exams, or lighthearted because you're in love, etc.

Everyone has stressors, however you may not actually be aware of them. There's plenty of stuff happening in your subconscious that recognise and deal with stuff that you are experiencing, but not in such an explicit way as your conscious mind, hence you're not totally aware of them. Anyhows, don't worry about it - everyone goes through periods of feeling happy, sad, etc.

Ok thanks, its just im not at uni and am not working so basically I can do what I want until I find a job, im not on JSA so don't feel any pressure to start work though im constantly thinking about my future. Other than this I have no worries apart from anxiety which comes and goes. There are no external factors affecting me:confused: Hope some of that made sense lol.

Well, you're constantly thinking about your future - that will undoubtedly make you feel some emotions, either positive or negative depending on your outlook and your own aspirations and schemas regarding the world. Of course there are external factors affecting you - your world is not a bubble, even if you don't realise it. Anyhows, I'm off to bed. Hope you feel better that there's nothing wrong with you, as this happens to everyone.

i'm going through one now, but like AI said its due to stress etc. one day i'll feel brilliant but on another i feel bogged down by everything! so its not just you

What does feeling bogged down feel like though? Do you get anxious, feel like you cant cope? I have funny moods too, I was in one of them on christmas morning!

I think everyone experiences this at some times. Don't worry

If it gets in the way of you enjoying life, or prevents you from functioning 'normally' then its time to see a doctor.

when im in a funny mood i lose my appetite, which is annoying cos now i'm starving :p:

im up and down like a yoyo sometimes! im mostly a happy person though, but then im quite lucky in life, and if im not then i dont dwell too much on it, feeling sorry for myself doesnt help anything. My boyfriend broke up with me after almost 4 yrs a few weeks ago, and since then i have been more up and down than usual, but i still keep a smily head on, i have quite a positive outlook on life, and that seems to help me through everything.

Yeah sometimes I haven't even had a bad day but I just feel down for no reason really. I find that when I stop and think about things or if I have nothing to do, I start getting upset. I'm one of those people that just needs to be kept busy I think :P Normally I'm fine after taking a nap or when I wake up the next day.

Of like feeling down/lightheaded/unwell/anxious for a few weeks then going back to normal for the next few weeks and so on..? Or just me?

I get pretty bad mood-swings too sometimes... though I'm a guy...(not being sexist or anything)

The only thing to remember is: control yourself!

Dont let your mood swings out on others, thats all... or it could result to disastrous consequences...:p:

Well I actually went and did something to avoid these type of mood swings. I started going out more and more with my friends...that helped...It kept my mind off things...
