CW Stress!

Im really stressed at the minute with coursework, ive got geography to re-sit and a new one for A Level, and two Media Resits.

The main problem i have is i cant be bothered because everytime i start i get stressed and get a headache. On top of this im expected to do two English essays lasting 2 hours 30 mins, and the other 1 hour 30 by 2mora.

I know i sound lazy but im not feeling to good and i stop after 20 mins. Im expected to take what ive done so far in geography in 2mora, but ive hardly done any!

My life is difficult in a personal way at the moment, so ive lost the effort rate i usualy have. My head is banging and the constent presure is getting to me!

Does any one else have these problems with cw getting to them?

I think this is a problem we all have from time to time.

Fortunately I've been good recently, so much so that my 3500 word essay due in tomorrow was finished last night. I've found planning in advance really helps and is the key, so try breaking you work down and setting yourself targets each day. I won't allow myself to stop until I've reached my targets for the day.

Also if you do a search on here, there was a thread recently about procrastinating which might help - the was a link to a website which offered tips. In fact, I've got the link:- http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Overcoming_Procrastination

Hope this helps.

if you are getting headaches try drinking enough water to keep yourself hydrated and eating enough. Using your brain and doing work uses more energy than most people think. Don't constantly snack as it will take your mind off the work but eat balanced and healthy meals with a couple snack times in the day.

CWs getting very much to me at the moment :frown:

ICT due in the end of the week.. Business due in on Tuesday.. I just can't seem to sit down and work in peace for a while.

Gaaaaarrr.. I'll be working all day today no doubt.
hey, i understand completely where you're coming from cause ive felt that exact same way up until recentyly. For me the cause of it was stressing over my university applications - because i hadnt heard from the unis i wanted to go to, i began rethinking and stressing over my choices etc (cam application triggered it off..). My confidence fell dramatically and i felt anything i did was crap so i just didnt have energy/determination/motivation or the will to do anything hw related. As a result i was behind.. especially on my lit coursework which im having to desperately do now!
I think the important thing is to have goals; say to yourself that you have to do this coursework because you want to get an A in it and this wil ultimately help you get into your uni or something like that (for me thats my aim). This way hopefully you will have the motivation to do it well. Things do seem overwhelming especially at this time of the year, but if you start doing things bit by bit then you can see that its not so much after all. Maybe make a list of everyting you need to do and tick it off as you go along, it feels soo much better knowing you have one less thing to do.
I wish you all the best and if you want any help PM me xxx
Plan your time effectively. If you can't work for very long without having a break then work for half an hour and then take a 10 minute break. You shouldn't work for more than an hour without taking a break anyway because your concentration drops. If your struggling with any bit of your coursework then see your teachers and tell them that you've got a lot on, you never know they might be more lenient. To stop yourself getting stressed just concentrate on one task at a time and work through all the things you have to do.

Same problem here. I've been trying to do my classics coursework but really cant think of more to write. The first draft of my history coursework was also supposed to be in last monday, but my teacher gave me till tomorrow to do it......unfortunately I still have nothing done. Don't have any books to do it cos everyones doing chamberlain...so theyve all been taken out!
Don't worry, it will all be over soon. Just write stuff and hope for the best. Also if you can't think of anything more to write then bring it to and end with a conclusion or whatever. Better than sitting for 2 hours and not writing anything!
dont worry about it
i know exactly how you're feeling - in september at the start of my AS course we went on a trip to the peak district for a week to gather loads of data for our geog cw (worth 1/3 of our final grade).
the cw (which was about 50 pages long and we all spent hours on it... loads of lessons, background research, homework etc) got moderated and we got the results back last week... it turns out the criteria we did our cw to was wrong because it changed since last year. we all have to do a whole new piece of cw before the may exams, which means revision time for exams will be cut down.
i am so so SO angry about it and just feel like not doing it again, but just think about the end of it and how happy you'll be this summer when your hard work pays off. easier said than done, but you'll be glad of trying when its over
i'm kind of in the same situation, my geography cw decline is coming soon i got two english essays to do and a test on psychology.
I know exactly what you mean. I got intensely stressed over university applications, and got very behind on my work. I somehow pulled myself through the January exams but it all caught up with me at c/w time and the stress was unbearable. Personally I've been so bad I've had to pull out of both courseworks and do exams instead - so try alleviating the pressure a bit by telling yourself if the worst comes to the worst, you can always take exams - that might help you to get started
We ALL felt that way during A levels! Well most of us anyway. Just realise that it'll be over soon and try and break your work up into small bits. Think about all the time you spend watching TV or whatever and use this time to work and goto the library at lunchtime etc... once you get used to it its all fine. Good luck!
