Biffy Clyro
I do it the WHOLE time!

Sometimes it happens because I think: "I'd look stupid if I blushed at this particular moment"!

It's the same for me. If I'm at the dinner table, and I feel it's gonna happen I start gulping down my drink in an effort to cool down. It doesn't always work. I also get a rapid heart beat. It drives me crazy. A glass of wine stops it happening.

I usually just say, "It's a bit hot it here isn't it". It works.. sometimes :p:

Yep I blush all the time, and it's true - it is a vicious circle, because as soon as you start thinking "I'm about to go red" you do and you can't stop it. It is really annoying but I'm hoping it'll go away in time when I gain more confidence. It's nice to know there's other shy people out there, including guys!

Yep I'm the same too...I've always had rosy cheeks and blushed, but it only started becoming a problem in year 9 and I don't know what started it. However, it's less of a problem to me now as I've got older, although I do still worry about it. There's nothing you can do to your cheeks, so you just have to try and build your confidence. For example I took a job as a waitress, where you have to talk to people all the time, and this really helped my confidence and I hardly worry about it anymore at work. I still blush, but I've learnt to not care as much anymore. Another thing is breathing, if you're feeling a little stressed, trying to take deeper, more controlled breaths also helps. But just try not to think about it too much

I am a serial blusher. I blush at the smallest thing, like the other week someone complimented my Mother and I blushed!!!, Asking questions, answering questions etc. Anyone else have that problem? Anyone know something to help?

At least blushing makes most people look cute :p:

I seem to blush when im not actually embarassed....like if somebody asks me if i fancy someone and i dont I seem to blush because im thinking it would be really embarassing if they thought I fancied that person...but maybe im just strange...

my mate calls me clifford (the big red dog) because i go red all the time! Really doesnt help the blushing situation when he calls me that!

Oh blushing...the bane of my life! :frown: I easily go bright red at anything and the horrible thing is that my heart starts beating wildly when I know I'm going to be in the spotlight and I just know that I won't be able to stop myself from going red.

To be fair though, with me I don't think it's always a psychological thing. Sometimes my face can go bright red even when I'm not embarrassed, for instance when I'm just walking alone; this never seems to happen to other people!

God I'm blushing now and getting flustered just because I'm thinking about blushing. Pathetic!

I used to be a really bad blusher.

Not so much now, but I still do blush and it's more annoying that anything because I'm a usually confident person but the blushing throws me totally.

There is an operation where they clamp a nerve to stop parts of the autonomic nervous system pathway, but there's lots of side effects...
