i got mine done with a gun and changed my starter earrings after three weeks and i’m still alive 😂😂
Cause a ***** not gay lol
Some 10 year olds, maybe. If you still think piercings and sexuality are linked I'd say you may be too young to have any piercings.

6 weeks for straights3 weeks for gays
Titanium earrings might be better as a lot of people allergic to gold earrings
Actually, guns have changed since the early 2000’s. It used to be this huge metal gun that you pull back the needle and let go, puncturing your ear. But now it’s completely changed. I should know, I got my first wholes peirced when I was 4 with the old gun. I was terrified to get my seconds and thirds. But then I went to Claire’s and found out it’s completely changed. It’s literally like a whole puncher for scrapbooking. It barley hurts and uses the earring itself to pierce your ear. It’s completely safe and more affordable. A needle is great and all, but it takes longer and you don’t get a ‘real’ earring for the 5-6 weeks you have to wait for it to heal. I now have 7 piercings, all done by gun, and they’re perfectly fine. All in all, guns have changed drastically over the years and are now one of the safest and painless ways to get your ears pierced.

why did you get you ears pierced then
Yeah you have to wait 6 weeks
Yes you’ve got to wait 6weeks !!
I know this is an old thread but I feel I have to make everyone aware, that yes if you are Gay your Ear piercing will take longer to heal, like the recommended 6 weeks may not be long enough. It has nothing to do with skin the length of time taken to heal of course comes from your sexuality

hi i am a male ( not gay ) and am getting my ear pierced soon and have found a earring i really like however i heard you have to wait 6 weeks before you can put your own one in ?

is this true ?

I did this and it went all crusty, itchy and horrible. Probably because the new earring was of a lesser quality than the piercing one. I do highly recommend keeping the original piercing ones in for the full 6 weeks regardless.
Old thread, I know but it's important people see this.
Some Info about piercings:
- When the piercer says wait six weeks, they mean six weeks (lobe piercings). Before this time the hole will shrink the second you take out the bar and it will close up, trying to put anything back in will hurt.
- Please DO NOT get anything pierced with a gun!! It's so dangerous. The gun hammers the bar into your ear, and causes much more swelling. For any piercing close to cartilage, (the hard parts of your ear, for example) the shock of this harsh movement can shatter the cartilage and give you life long keyloids, which are very noticeable lumps on your ear. A needle however, removes the skin/cartilage and replaces it with a bar. This is by far safer! Also, piercing gun handlers don't always clean their equipment or your ear or the jewelry beforehand or between uses. This makes you at risk for infection which can be hard to get rid of and can risk you losing the piercing.
- Guns can catch and fail, and you get stuck in the gun! Seriously it's better to just get it done slowly in a controlled environment with a needle by a professional (Not a teen at claires.)
- Go to someone you trust that has a folio of previous piercings and good reviews. Piercers usually work in tattoo places and they have a clean, sterile work area.
- Clean your piercings regularly! (like every time you brush your teeth or at least once a day) I've had friends who haven't bothered to clean them and still wonder why they aren't healing as fast.
- If it's your first time, you can go back to where you got it pierced and ask if they can replace the jewelry for you. They may also order in new jewelry for you.

Well since you’re not gay I would recommend waiting the 6 weeks. Just to play it safe
I had all my piercings pierced with a gun and it has done nothing. My piercings are fine but just hurts a little
When l got my ear pierced, l was told by the lady doing the piercing, to keep the piercing stud in for 6 weeks before changing it out, so as to prevent infection. I was also told during the first 6 months to wear an earring in the earlobe for most of the time as it takes 6 months for the piercing to fully heal. Apparently after 6 weeks initial healing has taken place but not full healing.
