How does a Paypal payment appear on your bank statement?

I had a quick look online but there was conflicting info. The reason for asking is my bank statement comes to my parent's house and I want to buy something new for my car which they wouldn't approve of. (exam issues)

From memory it should say only Paypal and price and not the name of the business/person?

If not, some people say it's better to withdraw money into your paypal then send money to the email address. Apparently that way it appears different on the statement?

Like this. The part next to the asterisk is the seller's user name on Paypal, I think.

Damn. I might have to withdraw money into my paypal then send it to his email. I don't think it will appear then will it?

I don't think so. It should just go into your Paypal account, then be displayed as Paypal on your statement. Won't your parents be just as suspicious if they saw a huge amount put into your paypal account?

Also, it might be worth checking if your bank do paperless banking (i.e. all your statements are online). I'm on Halifax, and they do so.

No because I can then say it's for something else : They won't mind that as much, plus it's barely £100. The issue is if it says something about Audis like the sellers name.

Why don't you stop receiving bank statements through the post and opt to receive them online?

Yeah I need to do that but right now due to my situation, they may get suss. I have never done online banking. Going to do it soon tbh.
