Why is this a health issue?

It really depends. I'm going to say muscle because I am 6' tall yet am about 9.5 stone and I look like I should be worried about clinging onto a lamppost should a strong wind ever come along.

Yet if you are muscular, height adds to it.

Although I don't see the necessity to look intimidating. Seriously, were not savages.

If I'm honest, I had no idea where else to post it...

I felt it was somewhat related, as it concerns aspects of physical and mental health

"Health - for information and advice on any aspects of physical and mental wellbeing"

Intimidation being a mental aspect; height/muscularity being a physical aspect.

Height up to about 6'2/3. Then it starts to look silly.

It'd be pretty terrifying to have walked by Hulk Hogan when he was in his prime: 6'7" and 302lbs... :zomg:

You've ignored the word 'wellbeing', though. I don't think making strangers afraid of you is relevant to your health.

Muscular. My Grandad is really small and really muscular and he's the most intimidating person I know :P

I would say muscle is more ''intimidating'' although to be honest I'd be more jealous/envious/impressed than intimidated, unless they were charging at me as if they wanted to punch me.
If I were walking down a dark alley at night in a rough area and saw a 5 ft 9 really well built muscly guy, it would terrify me more than a 6 ft 3 skinny person.

Fair enough. But like I said; I couldn't think of anywhere else to post it.

A short person... I am tall and somehow some short **** was able to smack me in the face one night out of nowhere, standing there having a cigarette then bam!!! :s-smilie: hurt like a bitch and the fight that ensued :colone:

Height. Bulky clothes can give the impression of muscularity, but nothing can give the impression of height.

No he literally smacked me in the face, got to admit quite well placed... shame he couldn't keep it up when I fought back, he was good at the surprise punch but when he has to land one and you know it is coming... he was terrible.

it totally depends on the person...

Definitely muscle, most tall people are skinny and dont look intimidating. Muscle allows you to throw a decent strong punch and use a lot of force (especially if you know how)
