Paracetemol

Is taking 2 painkiller tablets such as paracetemol eveyday dangerous?

Is it damaging to your body?

Long-term, probably, yes. Not hugely if it's only 2 a day, but if you're taking them for some problem, it's best to get that sorted out than become dependent on paracetamol for the rest of your life.

I think there's a chance you could be increasing your risk of stomach ulcers. I think that's the case with aspirin anyway, it may or may not be true of paracetamol

^^ Actually I think that's only true of aspirin and some NSAIDs

I think so - they're harsher on your stomach; paracetamol munches your liver. But I can't say for sure it has NO link to ulcers.
It should not damage you too much if you stick to the dosage levels. It isnt a prescription drug so it should not be too dangerous in small quantities. But if you have to take them the whole time, go to the GP. There is clearly something more underlying.

Its actually a hypothetical situation.

Definetly not good for your liver. It actually increases your tollerance levels to the drug requiring more for the desired effect in the future. Its much like how drug addicts require more and more of their chosen drug to get a kick. If you have certain levels of paracetamol in your blood the whole time, the next time you get a headache (or whatever), you have to raise the level higher for the same effect. This is where the doseages can really knacker your liver.

Not trying to be too pesemistic, this is all a longterm process. See if you can get away with taking one paracetamol each time or just try doing without it. Its not essentially a drug for the mildest of symptoms and shouldnt be abused.

I definetly say that 2 a day is not a good habit.

Hypothetically speaking, 2 tablets (ie 1 gram) of paracetamol a day will long term have very little effect on your liver at all. However, it's unlikely to help your pain either as paracetamol works best if taken regularly (ie 4 times a day) to keep levels constant.
