unable to have a decent conversation with a decent guy

ok ppl this is really depressing me. Last year, when i was in year 12, I really badly fancied this guy who was a year older than me. Hes a really nice guy- very deep, intelligent, beautiful. Nyway my problem is that i am completely unable to have a decent conversation with him (as the title suggests). I wan to listen to his problems and try to be helpful about things but im just unable to concentrate on what he's saying cuz im so amazed by his ...well...amazingness? Plus he has a bit of a muffled deep voice but im normally able to listen to guys...

How can i stop myself from going "huh" after everything he says? I really want to have a nice conversation with him without glazing over in love. God i sound nerdy!

He he I've been in that situation before, it's a great feeling when you eventually talk to a person you really like isn't it  . I totally know how you feel, I mean I spoke to this guy I really like, I couldn't stop noticing how sweet his voice sounds and how amazing he looks. But I've learnt to control how I feel by just trying to see guys I like as friends and say things that we have in common. I often compliment on the guy I like alot.

Just think of random questions to get the conversation going, I'm a very random person so I guess it's not that bad  ...

Good luck for next time

im slightly deaf so i play up on that a lot - tell him u have hearing problems and so he has to repeat himself and it wont look daft if u keep saying "huh?"!!!
Omg I have exactly the same problem, and the guy seems to be the same with me - he acts completely differently around me to how he does with other people, much more clumsy, less able to make intelligent conversation and joke around in a relaxed way, etc. I really hope that means he likes me too but I just don't know. I know exactly what you mean though, I get so carried away by him I just can't hear what he says sometimes
