woops should i have eaten this ham?

rite, wel i no it was probably a stupid thing to do, but you know the bernard mathews wafer thin turkey ham? well i had some that has been open for 8 days now. ive just had about 10 slices, and i notice that it says, once opened it should be eaten within three days. :eek:

woops. do u rekon i will get ill from it?? its been in the fridge the whole time. oh dear do u rekon i mite get food poisoning? it tasted and smelled fine :confused:

to me eating ham is food poisoning enough, even without it being out of date.
nah, if you're still typing it probably means you won't die this one time :wink:

generally, food poisoning happens with foods like
-fish
-seafood
-eggs

all other foods, they generally start smelling bad enough for you to notice if they become dangerous to eat.

Consume within ...... is usually a guideline more than anything else, chances are if it smelt, looked and tasted ok it probably was, but only just. Ive had loads of thing upto a week or so after opening and av been ok. The most you might get is a long session on the loo.

turkey ham says it all to me. wouldnt touch it with a barge pole. its made by throwing turkey carcasses and pig carcasses (after teh edible stuff has already been removed for pork and stuff) into a huge big mincer, adding a tonne of water and mulching and pressing... wonderful.

its fine but bernard mathews ham is wrong fullstop. have you ever considered the fact that since it is made of turkey it should be white NOT pork pink?

you will be fine, i how ever had some ham last night not looking in the packet properly, and when i did this morning i discoverd that the ham is moldy
