fun extras for prom

i'm one the team for organising our leavers' ball at school and basically it is a huge deal at our school- everyone goes to town on dresses limos etc so the pressure is on to have a really good one.
Anyway i need ideas for a fun extra thing to surprise everyone and make it more memorable. last year they had a chocolate fountain which was fab but we can't do the same thing again - something along those lines though.
any ideas will be much appreciated xxx

I remember organising our leavers ball. We had a fireworks display that went down really well.

I am organising our prom at school - we are considering hiring some traditional fairground stalls like candy floss maker, coconut shys etc or big versions of board games like chess and connect-4 etc.

When we paid for our tickets we had a code on the back of it and it was a code to a padlock, they had got this huge box which had loads of stuff in includinga cheap digital camera, alcohol, inflateable guitar loads of stuff. We Just had the usual with awards given out like the guy with best milf, oldest, blondest, best party of the year, best couple etc it was an amazing night although noting much happened. Though the boys did do a kinda strip dance aswell.

fairground rides - like carnival type ones, dodgems or something - way cool
champagne reception - sophisticated
give people free disposable cameras - to remember the evening
bouncy castle or inflateable ball pit... so cool
