eat it enough times, and you'll soon grow to like it...

Where are you getting your fruit from? I tend to hate fruit from supermarkets but I love fresher fruit from markets etc...

Hah, I know a guy who's just the same. I don't think he takes anything in the way of supplements, though.

Supplement shouldn't replace. They should, well, supplement.

Do you not like anything like fruit smoothies? Can you not add cucumber and lettuce to a sandwich filling you like?

I'm lucky, I like a lot of fruit and veg. You have to be a bit more creative...

i think the last time i ate a pieve of fruit was about 5-6 weeks ago... i had potatoe for my sunday dinner apart from that vegetable dont think i've eaten any for 4-5 weeks.

Vitamin C supplements should help slightly - from health food stores or even tesco

Reply 7

drink cocktails. thats what i do and im not dead yet XD

How can someone NOT like fruit + veg? I know a girl who hasn't had a piece of fruit for the last 10 years -- I can't imagine not having fruit and veg for 10 minutes! Well no, that's a slight exaggeration...
Take a multivitamin each morning maybe? Go to somewhere like Holland and Barretts and explain the situ over the counter to someone, take their advice and suggestions and then go somewhere cheaper to buy :P

Keep eating the good stuff, even if you hate it - I hate oily fish but tis good for the brain so the tastebuds must suffer a couple of times a week.

My sister used to be the same, even now I don't think a piece of fruit ever passes her lips but she has branched out into veggies other than potatoes and can sometimes even be seen munching on some carrots or peas.

My point is it never did her any harm....though I'd try and include some fruit juice and maybe a green vegetable...potatoes do get a bit boring after a while, even for Irish people

I should point out that potatoes don't actually count as vegetables, but as carbohydrates.

I like fruit but I can't stand vegetables apart from sweetcorn and carrots, they make me feel sick, I hate the texture of most of them.

Try making soup out of them...I find them a lot easier to eat if they're pureed up. I eat loads of tomato and parsnip now cause I make nice lentil soup and carrot/parsnip soup

im exactly the same cant remember the last fruit i ate and the only veg i like is carrots and peas so i just try to eat loads of them. its not that i dont like fruit i just dont ever seem to want to eat it

Reply 13

hahaha...i know someone who can't stand to touch a veg or fruit, ad if ever he eats one by mistake he immediatly spits it out...it's great fun to watch...
I think it somehow doesn't help his physical development: small, a bit fat....not a good idea to skip that part of your diet!
I think you should try soups, or even little pieces that you put amongst the other stuff you eat....supplements are not going to replace efficiently vegs and fruits...

You must like some forms??

I think these are really tasty:

roasted parsnips/ butternut squash
jacket potatoes
asparagus with butter

bananas
berry fruits
prunes, figs etc...they are so sweet and soft

Maybe just experiment with different types/ how you prepare them? Or "hide" them in dishes so you can't taste them so much? And smoothis, a someone else suggested..that'll make up several of your recommended portions.

I would guess that its not much to do with the taste/texture of fruit and veg, because there is such huge variety within that grouping of foods; there would have to be something you like.

So presumably its some kind of.. I dont know the right word, but more of a "social" aversion to them, I guess a continuing rebellion against eating fruit/veg that most of us exhibited as young children. I dont know how you can get over that, but incase it isnt the reason, aim to try lots of different fruit and veg to find some that you like

you should meet my friend, she hates fruit and veg too. she sometimes makes smoothies actually, apparently it makes it taste nicer!!
