The partnership is in its infancy at the moment. But from what i have heard, the number of colleges and departments participating is rapidly increasing every year. Personally, I believe if you make a big enough deal about it, have an excellent academic record for the first 3 years and can find an exchange partner at Princeton with similar determination, organising it will not be too difficult, no matter what subject or college. I am lucky in that Astrophysics is one of the key areas in the exchange.

Do they offer this for the Engineering courses? Specifically Engineering and Computing Science?

Also, does anyone have a link to a site with more info about this?
There are actually several different programmes. Engineering and Materials go for a fourth year project; history goes for just a term in the second year. I believe Stephen Tuck at Pembroke runs the history one. No idea about the other too.

There may be others. And remember participation varies by college.

It is offered for all branches of Engineering  , though not at all colleges, your tutor will know. Even if its not available at your college, I've heard of people getting onto it regardless through private recommendations through their tutor.

What is your reason for wanting to go to princeton?

Don't think thats aimed at me but I'll answer anyway :p: . I just think it'll be an experience, I had a hard time weighing it up and I'm still a few years off, but in my mind I want to go. I love America, would love to attend university there and am not sure if I want to do a postgrad, but on the other hand it means a year less at Oxford, which isn't good, however, I'm on a four-year course, so I'm not really missing a year compared to most students.

Thats my jumbled up reasoning :p: .

I think to have the worlds two best undergraduate universities on your CV is the the best reason for going.
But also i would like to compare their educational system in comparsion to the UK one.

There's more to life than a CV :p: , besides, if you're not lazy then its going to pretty hard to come out of Oxford with a bad CV and you can come out with an amazing one if you do get involved with the plethora of things on offer.

Don't worry. Bluefuture is very irritating so he realises to get a job he'll have to have a simply stunning CV. If you actually have some interpersonal skills you'll be fine with 'only' a degree from Oxford.

You still need a tonne of extra-currics though, I'm sure you could walk into a lot of jobs with just a degree, but more competitive jobs are going to require a lot more.

Hmm. You're right, he does need to go to both.
Thankyou for the clarification

Looks like a pretty old thread, but I'll ask a relevant question here instead of creating a new thread.

I gather that students going to Princeton from Oxford are in the fourth year of their undergraduate Master's course. But which year are the Princeton students in at their home institution and which year at Oxford do they do?

I'm asking this because I'm curious to know whether the 4-year BA/BSc degree at Princeton is equivalent to the 4-year Master's degree at Oxford.
