Memory problems and Absentmindedness

I feel as if my memory is worse than everybody elses, and I always forget things all the time. It's more than the usual, and I was wondering if it could be classified as an actual condition, and whether or not I am elligable to take medication for this.

I remember reading a thread on TSR about a guy who has this problem, and I want to know if it's something that you have to take a test on and the doctor seeing the symptoms and giving you medication for it. Also, are there any over-the-counter medicines that can help me with my memory problems and absent mindedness? I have a grandma with Alzheimers disease and I was wondering will I get that too? :bawling:

Hello there, I have this problem mate, and it was really getting me down, but I refused to see anyone about it coz I just made a joke of it. Anyway this year has been tough and being at uni has meant i cant hide the fact there is a problem, so even though i really didnt want to I spoke to student services about it and ended up having a screening test for dyslexia, the woman told me that there was a definate problem and im now booked in to see a speciallist to asertain just how sevre the problem is. Ive been told that its most likely dyspraxia due to the forgetfullness.

So my advice to you is go and ask for a screening, its free. Feel free to chat to me anytime, Im always on here. And as far as I know there are loads of other tsr user in similar situations.

good luck

Is your problem with short term or long term memory?
