Pedometers

I just bought one today. Anyone else have one?Have friends or know anyone who does? Have no idea why I actually bought it... I'm trying to lose weight, but I can't even figure out how the hell this thing works!
They just count your steps. So you can aim to walk a certain number a day. Good ones also calculate distance walked and calories burned apparently.

Yeah that's what mine has. I figured out how to work it now... Just attached it to my belt, and walking to the bathroom and back twice was a whole 24 steps! woohoo! of course... to lose weight I read you need to walk an extra 2,000 steps a day. Which is about a mile I think...

Everyone should aim for 10,000 steps a day, according to the experts.

Does that depend on your weight at all? I'm trying to find a website where I can calculate how many steps I need to take to lose 2 pound a week.

Have a look at this webiste: http://www.holistic.com/holistic/learning.nsf/Title/Weight+Loss+Step+by+Step
It says something about losing 2 pounds in a week. Also another thing i've heard is to count how many steps you do in a normal day, then for the first week add 500 more, then in the second week another 500 etc etc. Hope that helps.

I thought it would be funky to try wearing one. However, I'm too competitive so it got to the point where I was doing 20000+ steps to beat my previous day's efforts and what really annoyed me was how it didn't count every single step and often skipped some :p: .
I got mine free from walkers crisps
