I'd say Surrey on account its supposed to have a more acclaimed course for teaching and graduate research. The others I believe are very good too though

i dont know much about sussex. i applied to both surrey and reading. 2bh - i dont know much about reading, i just applied there to fill up the gap. i know surrey is suppsoed to be quite good for psychology. the only thing is is that its 4 years - theres 1 year placement. that will either put u off of going there or make you want to go there. because of that year placement, surrey is quite high in the tables for the % of people who get employed after graduating from surrey. i guess cos you build up contacts etc during your placement. the course outline from surrey looks quite varied - although it does depenend on what areas of psychology you like. the campus seems quite nice and isnt humongous. it all depends really what you want out of uni.

Hello- sorry i dont know much about your other unis but i do know reading. The good thing about it is it is a campus uni and also that everyone living out is generally in the same area so you get to keep that feeling. Also the uni is really close to town, maybe a 25min walk or so, meaning it is really easy to go out in reading where there are places to suit any taste. I think it is pretty good for psychology and is moving up the tables as far as the general university goes- you would come out with a pretty respected degree.
Bear in ind that the year out at surrey might not be a great placement ad you might not get paid, meaning it might be more productive just to get a job when you have finished

Hey! I applied to all three of those unis and decided to choose surrey as my firm choice. I chose surrey coz I liked the size of the campus and the placement year. Reading are meant to be rated really high (24/24) for teaching and research (5*) but to me the campus was too big and the location didn't feel right. I decided against Sussex because I live about 20 mins from the campus and don't wanna live at home. I didn't like the campus but the psychology department seemed very friendly and dedicated! Hope that helps, I know what a difficult descision it is, all of them seem the same!

I applied to all those 3, put Reading as my firm and Sussex as insurance. Reading campus was great and the course looked better with better facilities, Sussex was good too cuz of campus. Im just worried if i dont get into Reading i wont get uni accomodation for Sussex

Everyone I know who graduated and now works i reading says that reading is a horrible place with a good uni. I wouldnt know since I never venture beyond the train station. Sussex has a good vibe - lots of people love the psychology dept. there. Surrey is OK too, though Guildford will be no contest for Brighton for a night out and culture.

So to me - Reading Uni vs Sussex/Brighton.

My brother's at Surrey and loves it, so many of his friends there are lovely, and the uni has a great atmosphere. Don't know much about the other two, but Surrey does have better ratings than the other two for Psych, even though Reading is close behind. Have you visited them all?

I don't know about the course for Reading as I haven't been to their department open day yet but for accomodation and campus then Reading is the best. The night life and student life is also great. Then again I'm a bit biased as I only live 5 miles away... The shops are just down the hill from the Whiteknights campus and it is easily walkable. Many pubs and clubs around Reading give very generous student discounts and most places hold student evenings with local jazz/rock/other genre bands. Of course it ultimately comes down to the standard of teaching but I'll be happy to help give places to go and where to shop etc if you do decide on Reading (I'm fairly good at the whole shopping thing :P). If you can walk or you bring a car or get a bus pass there is a HUGE Tescos as well to get cheap cheap food from.

But saying that Sussex is ace as a place...I live 1/2 hour from Brighton which I love and it has a great nightlife!

Good luck whatever you decide to do and I hope you enjoy it!
Well, if it's not too late to throw in my two cents... Reading.
Suggested for no reason other than the fact that, that is where I am headed.

See you there!
