Well at least I know Durham has a Russian department:smile:
On another note...
Since I'm reapplying next year, I needs myself a college.
Any ideas?
I like the look of Castle and also Van Mildert, but am not sure.
Also if I'm applying for two degrees at Durham (Mod Lang + Combined Arts), can I apply for 2 different colleges?

Go for Van Mildert Paddy, it's great! I went there for the open day and had a really good time. Wasn't so impressed with the mod langs dept but I guess that depends what you want to do in your degree.
If I reapply next year I'm quite tempted to apply to Durham again, even though I know I don't want to go there, just to go to another open day! Or is that really odd...?!
As for applying to 2 diff colleges, creo que sí. Other people on here have done that.

Wait a second...
I want to do Russian, and this guy is head of Russian at Van Mildert, called Paddy.... And I'M called Paddy:eek:
Scary :afraid:

I don't really mind which college I go to, they all seem really good, except for Hilde&Bede, Hatfield and Butler. I don't like Hilde&Bede simply because it's way too far away, Hatfield because it is the one college which everyone I've spoken to says is evile and Butler because I'm too lazy to help found a college atmosphere and what not.
So come on people, I'm bored eating microwave food and avoiding revision (I also burnt my fingers with the microwave:frown: ) so advise me on college things. You know you want to...

Contrary to popular belief hild bede is not far away

I think if you want to go to the college you apply for apply for mildert as you stand a much better chance of getting in that college and not getting put sumwhere like butler

Well at the moment I'm thinking about appying to Castle for Combined Arts and Van Mildert/Trevs for Mod Langs, but it depends on how I like them when I visit.
I suppose there's a lot of competition for places at Castle then? Meh, oh well:rolleyes:

It really isn't! It's like a five/ten minute walk over the river from the Elvet area. Granted, it's up a bit of a hill, but at least you'll get exercise.

Definitely try for Castle! It's the best and you never know unless you try  . The application:tongue:laces ratio is rediculously high for there, but they let me in, so it can't be that difficult. I do think applying to 2 colleges you like the look of is a good idea though!

Yeah I'm going to apply for 2 courses at Durham defo, but I'll check with them to see if it's alright to apply to 2 colleges.
Ah well, I'll just have to wait til I have a look around the colleges myself to see what they're really like, although I have to say that in spite of myself I do like Castle:rolleyes:

I'm sure it's totally fine to apply to 2 colleges. I swear there are people on TSR who have done it.

Ah yes, but were they successful or were they slapped in the face with a wet mackeral? That is the question.
