What does it mean if a girl says she "would eat you up"?

This may sound like a slightly retarded question, but what does she mean when she says this? Is this a good thing, a bad thing?

It depends o how she said it, she could mean it in a sexual way (Which i think is unlikely) or a playful way where she thinks you're cute

I say, is this the kind of language we should be using at this time of day? Well DAWG, she wants your genitalia in her mouth, is what I think, you should ask her first though what it is she meant, don't want to be charged for molesting the girl now do you?

What do you mean by "this time of day"? What time is it in GB?

See, this happened in a bar (in Australia) last night and it was the typical scene where a group of Aussie girls walked up to myself and my mates, to put this in context - if this helps.

Confirmed, she wants your junk in her mouth, perhaps later you shall insert said junk in her trunk via the back door exit... fingers crossed, I'll pray for you... Although I'm not a believer, drastic sexual pleasures satisfaction calls for drastic measures.

Well a literal take on her words shows she may be coming out to you as a cannibal. If that is the case then use protection as in some kind of armour or kevlar(now that's not where that joke seemed to be heading).. Although alternatively it could be her way of saying your cute whether there is any real feeling behind that statment depends on how she said it..

How can I describe how she said it? All I know was that she sort of winked and stared into my eyes

Is it not obvious? I can't believe people need stuff like this spelling out. "I could eat you up" is something people say (usually adults to children) when they think said child is "cute", or "adorable" or whatever. I've never encountered this saying to mean anything sexual whatsoever.

Sorry if I offended you or anything, but I've just never heard anyone employ this phrase before.

And it's not as if the girl was older than me.

It suggests that she came perilously close to engaging you in conversation.

Some people are just autistic or alexythimic and they can have problems interpreting such phrases, especially the ones which describe feelings and emotions.

Have you read "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" by Mark Haddon? If not, I highly recommend it to you, it's a great novel and you can learn that when someone is socially awkward, it's not always their fault - they may have been just born this way.

means she's attracted to you and looking to get to know you better. In Britain this would not be an invitation to oral sex.
