Stupid me

First of all, I know I was stupid but it's too late for all that!
Basically, my boyfriend's a soldier and has been away in Iraq for a while but got sent home last week coz he's ill. I saw him over the weekend and on Sunday night we stupidly had unprotected sex. It was in the heat of the moment, and it only lasted a couple of minutes (He didn't come) before we both came to our senses and used a condom. I'm like THE most sensible person I know when it comes to things like that, and have never done it before (I'm usually the one telling people off about it - what a hypocrite!) But I am worried now. I don't want to get the morning after pill, plus it's gonne be too late soon. Even though he didn't come, I know it's not impossible to get pregnant, but it's highly unlikely right?
Sorry, I just felt the need to tell about it!
Thanks

Erm - you can. There's not a very high chance, but there's still a chance.

That's not strictly true, it only takes one after all! And there's usually some... stuff before a man comes.
Why don't you want to take the morning after pill? I know it's not ideal but then neither is a baby when you don't want one. Ok it's unlikely you'd get pregnant, but not totally impossible. For the peace of mind I'd say it's worth taking it.

I know, but I'd rather not, just coz I hate putting chemicals and stuff in my body. I know that it's not all that bad, but I just don't like the idea of it. Obviously, if I get pregnant now, it's my own fault coz I coulda just gone to get it...
You're willing to potentially have a baby rather than take a pill??! I understand not wanting to take pills but a baby is a lifetime

Yeah, in Iraq with hundreds of other blokes. Even if he had been surrounded by women, I trust him not to have cheated. I've been at home the whole time and haven't even thought about cheating, and I know how much he cares about me anyway, so I'm not worried about catching anything.
Don't be so stupid; think about this rationally, if you don't want a baby in 9 months time then take the pill, just to cover your back.

As for chemicals/harmful substances..have you never taken aspirin, antibiotics?Or even you could bring in drugs/alcohol/cigarettes..

X amount of women take this pill everyday with no adverse effects.

Well you aren't, and while there's not a *huge* chance that you're pregnant you could be, so taking the morning after pill isn't an overreaction at all.

I have a friend who was in the same situation. Exactly the same situation physically - they 'started' without a condom, he stopped - didn't come, 'hooded up' and continued.

They now have twin boys. Well, I say they... he buggered off.

Get an IUD instead of the morning after pill then? No chemicals involved, and no need to worry if the same thing happens again.

IUDs have a risk of infertility. Also, many IDUs are combined with slow release hormone, so it's worth checking which you're getting if you go down that route.

Its highly unlikely that you are pregnant, but bare in mind if you don't take the morning after pill you're just playing a game of chance, the chances you're pregnant are very very small indeed but theres still a chance. If you wanna be 100% then you know what to do.
Having a baby is much more risky for your health than the majority of drugs, and there is a chance of pregnancy in this situation. I'd go get that morning after pill if I were you, as soon as possible because the chance of it working decreases with time.

The chemical in the morning after pill is almost the same as a natural hormone in your body, so part of your cycle comes at that particular point so you don't get pregnant. It's not like it's causing something terrible to happen inside your body - unlike alcohol, cigarettes etc!
