The sub-forums are an annoying complication. According to the mods, they're only there because the forum is busier than it used to be, but with posts (on average) made every 20 minutes or so, I really don't see any reason for them.

Every other forum I've ever been on ONLY has subforums- they don't have this general bit at the front.

I agree, there should only be 3 sub forums max.

The ones like the academic sub-forum and the uni subforum, they work well.

Having too many just isolates potentially decent threads.

Its a little too quiet in there.
Very true, that is a big problem with sub-forums.

We would get better debates going on if such threads were on the main page.
