Coffee?

I have a small problem here - perhaps it isn't a problem, even, but it's quite embarrassing none the less.

I can't drink coffee.

Thus far, it has meant that I can't really ask a girl out for a coffee, instead I have to ask them out for a drink instead. The latter is considered by some to be the second step, whereas a coffee is the first. But then, you can't really ask someone out for a coffee and then proceed to drink fruit juice, could you?

Are you taking the wee here?

You don;t have to specify what drink you are taking them out for!!!

So what if you don't like coffee - that's not going to be the only thing they sell!

Anything hot, I can't drink it. Well, unless it's spliced with alcohol!

It just seems rather specific. To ask someone out for a coffee, and then not actually drink coffee... meh.

Then just get a frappucino or whatever they're called, the ice drinks.

Oh lordy, don't worry your pretty little head about that, mate. As it's been said in other posts, just say "Do you fancy going out for a drink with me?/ Maybe we could go to (insert name of venue) together on Wednesday night?" etc etc..

She's going to enjoy your company and get to know you better, yeah? Not to come home safe in the knowledge that the coffee industry is keeping it's head up. Not liking coffee will not kill this budding romance stone dead, chill!

PS: Earl grey? Tai chi? Extra skinny hot chocolate grande with a shot of amaretto syrup and marshmallows? The possibilites are endless..

Honestly you are worrying over something so trivial here!

Just say "can I take you out?"

You don't have to specify what for!

It's like when you go for a meal - you don't say "can I take you out for lasagne?"

You don't need to specify!

Although I'm sure this is trolling, this is why frappuccinos were invented.
i have the opposite problem, im addicted to coffee and cant resist, its the lovely smell and taste mmm

and decaff wont satisfy, i can tase the difference...

its a bit bad though, as im sure the amount i drink is bad for my health (increased blood pressure etc) and also im high as a kite during the day, then get a bit depressive at night when its wearing off.

Tea and coffee taste rank. I'm nowhere near grown up enough yet to drink it  it's hot chocolate all the way!
