Is there something wrong with me?

This is difficult to explain, so plse bare with me
Recently (within the last 4-5 months) i'm gettng really paranoid (not sure whether this is the right wordto use) about the most idiotic things. For example, with all my skin care products like moisturiser, cleanser etc, they all have to be from the same brand. With jewellry, i have it spread out on a table rather than in a box, and i only buy jewellry that goes with other jewellry i've already got so it looks nice together (even though i won't necessarily be wearing it together). Its like some fixed craze i've got. Another one is with the scarfs i own. I have 7 scarfs, one of a different colour, but they have to be made of the same material, and they are!!!!
My bf's dad has some fix craze like this where all the notches in the screws in the light bulbs have to face the same way!
What is wrong with me? (And my bf's dad?)
I think you can understand why i post this as anon

Probably brought on by exam stress, assuming you're of that age.

I'm not taking exams at the moment. Have a load of coursework though which builds up quickly

Go to the doctors - they might be able to sort it out before it takes over your life.

Failing that - get a job as a librarian.

There is nothing wrong with you. It is something you can deal with...so stop it:biggrin: What's your b/f view about it? like it?

i agree, seems like a bit of OCD, maybe triggered by the stress of cwk. if it bothers you, see the doc. if not its never bad to be tidy

It could be OCD, but many people have their own little obsessions. If you're worried, go to your GP. Usually, people who suffer from OCD carry out their rituals because if they don't they begin to have negative thoughts. OCD usually builds up over a period of years and it doesn't just happen. Stress can also lead a person to obsess over certain things.

Being a sufferer of OCD, pm me if you need to chat
