I'm well aware of that, but the applicant : offer ratio is very high at Southampton as well. I know some extremely good applicants that were turned down by Southampton, whereas there are some med schools that are relatively easy to get into in comparison. I'm not saying it should be in the top 5 or something, merely that it shouldn't be 24th out of 27!
Sure, I'm not begrudging you on that. Just alerting you to treat those numbers with caution (which you apparently have), since they can be severely misleading.

Concern noted.
Do you like the way I've turned a discussion about Oxford or Cambridge for Law into a discussion about Southampton for Medicine?
Just take my word for it that Southampton is one of the harder ones to get into... Elles would tell you the same.
Southampton..? no, i know nothing about Southampton, you must have me confused*.
But Southampton for medicine, does indeed have plenty of applicants. Something partly to do with the not-interviewing-as-routine policy perhaps? & a pretty good reputation - UCAS don't seem to do stats on offers, just applicants & accepts but i imagine a high % place them firm. I'm surprised at its place in that table too.

Guys comon! Back to the CAMB or OXFORD for LAW! not southampton and those medics....
I'm going to solve the 'which is better for Arts and Sciences' debate once and for all by stating an undeniable truth: Cambridge is infinitely better than Oxford for Architecture. Given that Architecture is, in a way, a halfway house between the Arts and the Sciences, we can legitimately generalise this New Truth to the larger debate of Oxford vs Cambridge and thus reveal The Universal Truth: Cambridge ownz Oxford.
