i feel fat

i'm back from university for easter and i weighed myself and i've put on a whole stone since starting university. probably to do with all the alcohol and hall food plus take aways, junk food etc. i was just shocked it's so much, and my mum said i've put a lot on round my waist. i want to lose it all again before going back to uni and then i'll be less of a pig in halls for my final term.....i feel so gross and i really hope i can keep up not eating junk this holiday....any tips?

Cut off the booze, eat healthily, take up an extreme sport so you can't drink and eat junk food, and you have to use all your muscles.

Take up snowboarding, skating, mountain boarding, surfing, something like that as it will really work the abdominal muscles, and you don't get much time to eat doing them. Snowboarding might not be the best though if you wanna lay off the booze.

stop eating junk and drinking alcohol and do varied physical activity as often as you can eg run, dance, row, skip, trampoline, play basketball, swim. lots of these things are social and fun so you can hang out with friends and still be burning off that extra weight.

Cut the booze, cut the fried food, and take up a sport which involves a lot of cardiovascular activity, like running and swimming. This is bound to get your weight down. It did for me.

Wow, i'm glad i read this before posting myself as i was gonna say something almost identical apart from i'm gonna have trouble this final term as the only place on campus we have to eat only serves crappy food and my boyfriend can't afford to take me out to buy decent food all the time.
Cut out the alcohol and junk food.

Take long walks, go swimming, running or cycling...

Buy a gym ball! Or try skipping
Now you are at home you might find it easier to stay away from junk food, and alcohol! I expect you'll drink less than you do at uni and will eat more healthier meals. If you do this, you body will automatically return to nearer its former size. However, it probably wont lose a stone in a few weeks, as that is pretty drastic. You would have to continue eating sensibly back at university, and make sure you do some sort of exercise even if it is just walking! Good luck
Best way to lose flab in 6 weeks, folks? I wana lose flab for the summer!
Keep off the booze and take away foods, the take away foods are the world's worst.

Cut the carbs, trust me. Reduce your rice/bread intake substantially, and needless to say the fatty food. When eating your chicken, slice away the fat. Definitely stay away from canned drinks and down as much water as you possibly can.

Go swimming and running, there are loads of cool trainig programmes which can build you up slowly to being able to run quite far! I'm using this one at the moment http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml which I'm not finding too hard and I can see the improvements already (I'm on the second week). Other than that drink water, eat a healthy breakfast, and don't worry if you have the odd bit of junk, everythings ok in moderation. The point of this isn't to punish yourself - it's to get fit and enjoy doing so. Good luck

Depends how much. My mate managed to lose 4st in a month by working a road gang, but that's probably not the answer you're looking for :p:

Exercise, eat healthy foods, NEVER eat take away or microwaved food or fried food and sleep more cos you can't eat when you're sleeping :p:

Cause the first post said s/he put it all on round the waist
Drink wine instead of Lager; tastes nicer anyway.
Water water water water
Ive also gained a stone since starting uni (but i know ppl hu have gained more so dont worry) ive managed to stop myself gaining any more tho by going to the gym 3-4 times a week. drinking vodka with dietcoke or diet lemonade and never things like alco pops. cooking for myself instead of takeout (this is also cheaper by the way) and rather than dieting all the time i just diet on the days im going to be drinking (which tends to be 2 or 3 times a week) on these days i try to keep cals down to about 1000-1200 and 2000 on the other days.

All the same dont worry too much you really are normal to have gained so much weight and things will probably change next term as things wind down for exams etc
