Exeter, Bristol even Gloucester AFCO for RAF

Hi All,

I live in the South West and have been to OASC a year ago so am fairly familiar with the process. Anyways, for a medical reasons was ruled out for aircrew so am re-applying. Problem is I went to the AFCO in Exeter and was told that the officer an command is an absolute nightmare. He is so pedantic about details that he hardly puts anyone through to OASC (compared to other AFCO's). Last time I applied (in the north) the officer at the AFCO was really helpful (when he realised I wasn't a waster anyway!).

Just wondered if anyone had any opinions on this, or how they found other AFCO's in the South West like Bristol or Gloucester as they are all similar distances to me.

Cheers guys ;-)

Bristol have been really good to me so far too!

I can't say for Bristol but he'd be hard pressed to not send you up to cranwell if your file has OASC telling you to return in a year.

Bristol is a very good AFCO, and the staff are very helpful from Officers down to junior ranks.

Every AFCO should be. The emphasis is on the candidate, not the AFCO they have been put forward by.

I don't think that was the issue. There is no bias about which AFCO someone comes from.

Reply 6

I think the issue was about which ones were more helpful. :p:
