Temporary Paralysis As A Result of Using Cannabis

I have only used cannabis once, and don't intend to use again. However, when I used it, I had a space shake and a hash brownie and shortly afterwards (maybe forty five minutes?) experienced temporary paralysis. It lasted about forty-five minutes to an hour and was genuinely terrifying. I've searched google and haven't found anything mentioning this reaction, and was just wondering if anyone had experienced the same thing? I just want to attach some sense of normalacy to it, and move on!

Yeah, I had this. Well - sort of. I pulled a whitey and was properly sick. I was sitting next to the toilet for a good 30 minutes. Anyway, I couldn't move my legs at all. The thing is it might have been because I was sitting on them and the blood supply had been cut off. I say that because I was able to move my arms etc - so it certainly wasn't full-body paralysis. Space shake - you were in Amsterdam hey? Everyone seems stoned in that place, it's almost disconcerting.

If I were you id forget about it and DONT DO IT AGAIN!

Yeah, I'm not going to do it again... I just wish I could find someone else who'd had the same experience just to give me a sense of security somehow!

Its pretty normal when you ingest cannabis(eat it) rather than smoke it, don't worry about it. Its pretty fun when you get used to it, also if you smoke enough this can happen too, I know I lose decent control of my legs if I smoke enough.

Reply 5

Could you not move at all?

Reply 6

Nope... it was scary :frown:

Reply 7

I can move OK, I just don't want to, it should just feel like your whole body is completely relaxed, very nice.

What you experienced (complete paralysis) is pretty abnormal but it'll probably go as you get used to it.

If you were lying down and were sick, you could have choked to death on your own vomit. Don't do it again.

that is hillarious!!

go get high again but this time smoke it instead of eating the **** which gets you ridiculously **********.e.d!

peace out homeboi

Paralysis is probably a misleading way of describing it. The main active component of cannabis, THC, binds to cannabinoid receptors in the cerebellum and basal ganglia, impairing, often quite profoundly, coordination and muscle control. What you experienced was probably just an exaggerated form of this loss of control.

Hey mate, i am a regular user of cannabis and i had 3 pulls on a joint last night and then after 45 mins i couldnt sit up straight, then my mouth throat and gums went completely numb, when my friends lifted me up i came too then vomitted, this process continued to happen for 3 hours. I got myself home and managed to full asleep. I woke up today feeling pretty ****ty but better, smoking cannabis can cause temporary paralysis also its more likely to happen if your drinking alcohol as well.

My advice to you, is to lay off it for a while, im considering stopping it now since that has never happened to me and i have smoked it for 5 years. If there is anything else you are worried about feel free to ask

But getting stoned when youre drunk is the best kind of stoned feeling  It makes being drunk nicer too, such complimentary drugs for me. I know some people that hate mixing them but it works for me.

I can't say I've felt this paralysis personally, but I have felt so relaxed that I don't want to move before. If you don't understand how relaxed you are it can be a bit freaky but just go with the flow and enjoy it.
