Paramedic, biology?

I want to be a paramedic... I know that you can't jump into being a paramedic you need to work your way up there... But the thing is, I've failed biology last year and i retook it this year. Due to family situations I didn't manage to do very well in my exam in January and failed again.

I understand that you need 5 GCSE's and I already have those. But seeing as I've failed biology AS, will that affect my chances? I don't know if U grades are actually stored and if potential employers see them.

You wouldn't of got any certificate saying you got a U lol, so it just wouldnt of been saved. So for all they know, you didnt take it :wink:

Having a quick look around, i don't think failing biology will hinder your chances as they don't want it as an entry requirment. Got that from:

My dad's a paramedic and doesn't even have any GCSEs! Although that requirement has changed now. They'll teach you the biology and anatomy you need to know so I wouldn't worry about your AS. You'll probably be at an advantage to someone who hasn't taken biology beyond GCSE because you'll at least be familiar with some higher level biology, even if you don't have a qualification.
