NB, the UK average is 16. Which is in fact, the same size as... Marilyn Monroe.
Of course, a 16 is now seen as 'huge' and in many places, not even stocked. But Marilyn is worth a second look. I say.
Amongst 'the youth' and all that... I'd venture 10 is the average.

i refuse to believe that unless definitions of sizes have changed over time..
my mum is a size 16! so i know what a size 16 looks like!

I heard from somewhere that she was a size 12/14 in her time but today that would be a size 8. So...technically she was just big for her time. I'm a dress size 8 and for tops but trousers are another matter.

14-16 but then again I am curvy.

12-16..! Sometimes I have trousers in a 16, generally 14. I can wear tops in a 12 if they have a lot of give in the boob bit, but usually theyre too fitted making them a 14... As for dresses, I don't wear them. But a 14-16 for the same reasons as tops!
