A full set of cutlery
A toaster/kettle/sandwich toaster (it was a set of 3!)
Nice plates/cups/bowls (they all got knackered and I ended up replacing them with seconds from a charity shop)
Ring binders/pads of paper (I personally didn't take notes that way - ended up annotating lecture handouts and keeping them in manilla folders, had friends who ended up with all their work in exercise books) ring binders are a pain in the arse to carry around everywhere.
