erm, I think cultural pursuits are things like going to art galleries, ballet, opera?!?

Is this question so that they can get a rough idea as to who is 'upper class', because they're the ones that don't put fancy things down?

How do you mean? surely as has been flogged to death in another thread, class has absolutely no reckoning on if you get or not.
No I think it encourages you to think of other things besides sport, they probably also have a bit of a chuckle at the things people come up with as a cultural pursuit ie Eating Curry. I hated filling in that bit as I wasnt sure if an interest in travel, and history counted as cultural pursuits!

Or perhaps showing a good sense of humour? So long as to mention other non tongue-in-cheek 'cultural pursuits' as not to look too stupid. That would be one to tell the grandkids though; how you got selected for the Army because you enjoy eating curries.

I'd say that getting into the Army was something to tell the grand kids, so that they don't make the same mistake. :p:

what about including say contemporary cinema e.g. Munich Syriana etc?
In terms of the RAF:

Generally in phase 1 of the RAF interviews at OASC, the officers are looking to 'tick all of the boxes'. Your application forms are always used as a point of reference and it bodes well to make a copy before you submit it so that you can remind yourself of what you have said.
In terms of cultural experiences, there are many to choose from. It can be as simple as visiting a National Heritage building or even watching a musical in the West End. Either way the RAF look for that balance that you have as an individual. After all during IOT, socials are compulosry and include events such as wine tasting evenings.
Whatever you decide, remember that you can always spin it to your advantage.
