I just got braces and i find it really hard to eat cos i cant cew food as the brace at the lower part is blocking the upper teeth. I basically just swallow everything. can anyone tell me if this is how i m going to eat till i get my brace out?:frown:

eat soft foods like eggs, potatoes, pasta and hey if you like chinese its an excuse to eat it as it doesnt hurt. Just stay away from very hard food for a little while until you get used to them
OK you need to get yourself to a supermarket......after I got my braces I lived on soup for a long time! as you can just swallow it, also I went to the chemist and got glucose tablets and build up milkshakes...the choccie ones taste great! Don't forget ice cream too.....my love for mr ben and mr jerry will NEVER falter!! you will get used to the braces..it took me a few weeks but after that it was fun. Good luck and think of the end results!

Thanks, but i dont understand what u mean by eat chinese food. I'm a chinese and i eat chinese food, such as rice and other side dishes, at home. but i dont like the idea of swallowing the food because i dont think it's good for digestion/health.:frown:

thanks, your "menu" sounds interesting and make the whole thing sounds not as missarable as i thought. But is that mean i have to stick with soft food or soup till the end?:frown:
No not at all, I stuck with it for a few weeks until I got onto more solid foods ..i started with things like mashed potatoe and chesesy pasta as they're soft, then to things like toast....you get there eventually as you get used to the pressure of the brace and the pain goes away. When you have it tightened tho, you may want to go back to soft foods for a day or two as sometimes it would hurt lots, but sometimes not at all!
