Easter exercise and diet advice needed

Hey, i posted a while back about losing weight and you guys were pretty helpful as i was 196 pounds and 23% body fat and am now 168 pounds and 16.5% body fat.

I want to stay at about 11.5 - 12 stone but i really want to get my body fat lower, to about 13-14%. This easter im doing 3 miles running daily and an hour of weights for 2 different opposing muscle groups daily, ie, bicep + tricep, back + chest, shoulders and legs. I'm also eating just chicken and pasta and a bowl of cereal in the morning.

Can anyone give me any advice to help me with my goal as im not certain this will be enough lol! :suith: :tsr2:

Make it brown pasta, it's healthier.

That's all i got, sorry.

Oh yea.
Make sure you have some fruit and veg in there!

how did you measure you body % fat?

using those tanita body composition scales, varies from 15 to 16.9 at the mo so im guessing im about 16%

Running everyday isn't especially good for your joints- maybe you should vary it with something lower impact; swimming?
running EVERY day is def too much you need some time for your muscles to relax with at least 36 hours rest between intense exercise periods. otherwise nothing will happen

So is doing weights daily bad? even if its focusing on different muscle groups? Oh yeah ive got this slendertone ab toner thing to, its one of those electronic pulse thing, its quite cool, but are you saying to get better results on my abs i should use it every other day instead of daily?

that's complete rubbish. you most certainly do not need 36 hours, or any, in between running everyday.

i thought it was, i might alternate cycling with running, bis - i have noticed a difference from using the slendertone for about 3 months, no six pack yet cos my body fat is still a coupla percent too high, but it has pulled my stomach muscles in and firmed them! plus its just useful for telling you how many calories youve burnt, heartrate etc...

honestly, they do nothing. try to find a credible study showing that they have any effect whatsoever.

have you found a study that discredits them ? i do think theyre quite good, you can feel your muscles being stimulated and my abs hurt the next day same day my arms do after weights! so must be doing something lol
Reply 14
the fact is i don't think any studies have been done as the theory is pretty ridiculous and shouldn't be taken seriously.

the fitness industry is worth billions, Abs belts are just another way to leech your money

Heres your credible study Bis:

Looks like its not as effective as situps, but i do use it on maximum and i wear it while i'm running which must increase its effectiveness plus i combine it with free weights and dieting. So it can't be doing me much harm can it ?

I wouldn't train everyday even if you work different muscle groups, you'll get major CNS fatigue.

cns fatigue??

central nervous system.

Your muscles can grow even with continual stress ie. if you did bicep curls 24/7 then your muscles cells would grow, your muscles don't actually need any rest at all really, the limiting factor is your central nervous system.
