pill - bleeding

hi, i went on the pill (cilest) for the first time on the first day of my period (about 18 days ago) and hav been takin my pill everyday at roughly the same time. but instead of my normal period which lasts 4 days i hav had it everyday for the 18 days i hav been on the pill. at first it was realy realy light, more like jst spotting, but now its more like a full blown period. i jst wondered if this is a normal side effect of starting the pill and if anyone else has had the same problems? should i go see my doctor or jst let my body get used to the pill?
It's a normal side effect, but if it doesn't settle down after one or two cycles check with your doc to make sure that there's not another problem. It really probably isn't something to worry about.

Alternatively, if you don't want to have to put up with it, go and ask for a different brand of pill

Wouldn't she have to finish the packet she started before starting a new one anyway?

I didn't when I went from pill to implant. But the sooner she gets a new prescription, she can make sure it's ready to start next month.

i could do that but other than the major bummer of being on a permanent period i have been pleased with this type of pill as it has given me no other side effects. i think i may hold out and try the second pack and hope it goes away as my body gets used to it.

I had the exact same problem, but it sorted itself out by the end of the second packet. Make sure you're taking them at the same time every day as well, as irregular pill taking makes things worse.
Yeah I'm pretty sure that is a side effect of the pill. I'm on that pill & have had no problems but it depends on the person. If it continues next month, go & see your GP. It could just be that your body needs time to settle down & get used to the pill, you might need to change the brand, or at the worst- consider trying a different form of contraception.

Like everyone has said, its a nomal side effect... however, if it continues, see your doctor and maybe ask if you can try Microgynon 30.
