my poor lady-bits (warning: graphic)

omg i'm really really really freaked out, please someone help me! i have an appointment at the gum clinic on friday so please no one advise me to go to the doctors, because i definately am! i want some input in the meantime...

...ok, bit of background; in december i got tested just for peace of mind at an std clinic and got a clean bill of health; stupidly i then went and had an unprotected one night stand (yeah, i know, retarded).

i haven't had any problems or symptoms or anything so i hoped everything was ok, and then i got a new bf and started sleeping with him (i'm on the pill so we don't use condoms). again, no problems.

well it's the uni holidays now so we're back home and whilst i'm seeing him quite a lot we haven't been able to have sex due to parents being around etc. so we hadn't slept together for about a month and then last weekend when my parents went away we had a bit of a marathon.

my bf is quite large and it did hurt alot, even though it doesn't usually but i just assumed it was because we'd not done it for a while so i wasn't really used to it or whatever.

NOW...since monday my ladybits have been seriously burning, as well as being unbearably itchy (i am prone to thrush and have had it before but this is seriously worse, like i can't go two minutes without practically clawing myself to shreds :frown: )

AND today....ooooooooowwww........the entire left side of my inner labia has swelled MASSIVELY and is actually partially obstructing my main vaginal hole. it's DISGUSTING and i can hardly sit down cos it hurts so bad :frown: :frown::frown: i'm sorry to be so crude but it is seriously horrible.

i've tried aqueous cream to soothe it, as well as canesten but i'm really worried about what it could be?!!

please please help, i know it's gross but what on earth...?! :frown::frown::frown:

Its unlikely to be an STD, he might have just given you some sort of open wound which then got infected.

Tell him his job is to pleasure you, not destroy you.

Should sort the problem.

but nothing got cut or anything and wouldn't it be too soon to be infected? i mean, it was on monday when i started getting symptoms and it was only the day before we'd been having sex! though i'm glad to hear you don't think it's an std, i certainly haven't heard of an std that does **** like this to a girl...
aww you poor thing. surely this is more of an emergancy appointment than a wait till friday thing?

Well, I only came up with that conclusion from the fact that you've had sex before and not had any symptoms or problems.

Its perfectly feasable hes been shagging other girls or shooting heroin I guess.

they were horrible on the phone, the woman said i'd have to wait for the drop in clinic on friday because they absolutely COULD NOT see me at any other time (and she sounded like she was eating her lunch whilst she was on the phone with me :frown: )

seriously, i'm really disturbed i've never in my life heard of LABIAL SWELLING  . and it's kind of...hard...where it's swelled, if that makes any sense?!

question have you shaved recently and it's just growing back like stubble? coz i'll be honest,it happened to me like 2 weeks ago lol  it hurt so much. combined with having thrush at the same time...wow...not a good experience...will rethink brazillian waxes from now on. just try to keep the area ventilated and clean and away from things that'll make it worse. you should be better in a few days. :hugs: but then the pain during sex could be chlamydia (sp?) so just to be sure, get yourself checked again  goodluck

first thing: DO NOT TOUCH IT IF POSSIBLE. I know its hard but you WILL irritate it and make it worse. Before you go to bed tonight try and buy some sudocrem (available from tescos, sainsburys etc) and gently apply it. Its designed for itches, rashes and other nasty skin infections and yes its suitable for *down there*.

I'd ring up your docs again FIRST THING tomorrow and explain you are in agony. Or go down to the hospital.

*hugs* xxx

Sounds like it got scratched and is inflamed. Maybe it's got a bit of infection, but the swelling is your body's response to this so unless it starts oozing stuff, or becoming even more painful, that's probably all it is.

I couldn't honestly say if you have an STI, because some can be symptomless, so getting a check up if you've had unprotected sex is a good idea anyway (had your bf been checked before you slept with him?). However, this current thing sounds more like you've got some nasty sudden thrush (possibly he's got it too?) and have scratched yourself.
Poor you, the only thing you can really do is try and keep it clean, don't itch and abstain from sex until its all sorted. Good luck at the clinic
ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch, i agree this seems more of an emergency than a casual check up!!! really need to get to the doctors ASAP and get that sorted out!!!

DONT SCRATCH IT ANYMORE!!! I Know you're dying to but DON'T.
i don't think its an STD.
I am no doctor so dont take my word for it, but it doesnt sound like an STD, but more like an infection or something

could be a yeast infection??

Really? ^o)

Maybe I'm just far too casual about these things, but from what I've heard, there's nothing life-threatening.
Have you tried Googling it?

It may not be anything life threatening, but simply for your comfort, I'd advise to try and get some help, aSAP. xxx

I'm pretty sure there are glands where you described. Maybe it's them? Maybe they are blocked (could be for a number of reasons - one of which COULD be an STI). Stay safe in future.

Ouch, sounds painful :frown: Even though there might have been no symptoms or problems, a fairly large number of STD's can go undetected, and have no symptoms what so ever, so although its probably not what you want to hear, there could be chance its an STD. You've done the right thing by booking an appointment at the GUM clinic, they will most likely give you an examination, as well as testing for everything going as it sounds fairly serious :frown: You might even be refered to a gynocologist seeing as you have a past history of Thrush :frown: For now, try to leave the area well alone, wear cotton underwear and try not to use any washing powder that could irritate it. When is your appointment? Could you possibly push it forward as it seems like they could class it as an emergency. You might also want to see if theres a Well-Woman clinic near you as they might be able to fit you in as soon as possible. Hope everything gets better hun
