I never found that toothpaste worked- blocks up your pores really. I normally use sudacrem as well for really bad spots. But if thats not working I don't know. If its one of those big red spots that hasn't come to a head yet you can speed up the process by putting a hot water-soaked face towel over it for about 20 minutes which should force it to come to a head and then using sudacrem should work.

If not I'd just wash my face every morning and night, moisturise your skin and put nothing else on it so as not to block up the pores
careful with toothpaste because it really really dries your skin out:redface: ...
so don't put on loads and don't leave it for too long..
One of my friends tried it once, left it all night, and arrived in class next day with peeling skin

Try not to finger the spot too much as it could get infected and grow even bigger. Just clean your face, conceal the spot, and leave it alone!
good luck

hehe thanx guys yeh im gna go cleanse and tone and see what happens with a bit more sudocrem!
This is where being a guy and shaving helps, if you use a cheap disposable razor then any of those "blind spots" under the skin soon see the light of day! They bleed for ages but blind spots can hurt like mad and once they've been "bled" they shrink and don't hurt as much, they seem to disappear quicker too.

Obviously don't take this as medical advice because there's a risk of infection but my razors have brought death to many spots in their time. Also the down side is if you are trying to hide them you can forget it once they've been nicked because you will have an angry red scab there for a few days.

I've never heard of usung sudocrem before! What does it do exactly? and how do you use it? I might give it a go! I have terrible skin, I thought it would have cleared up by now (I'm 21) but its still yuck!! The best cream I've tried is oxy10. Dries them up, but it can make the skin around go a bit flaky. I seem to have a lot of 'scars' or more realisticly they just seem to take a long time to completely heal, does anyone have any remedies fro this kind of problem?

If you can take the smell, then TCP works well.
I really don't know what people have against squeezing. It works for some people! It has to be the right situation though. If you can see that all the crap is at the surface then getting it out is clearly the thing to do.
Then disinfect (with proper stuff - I use diluted dettol).

But yeah, disinfecting with some strong stuff is a good idea, I say.

Squeezing spots is only something you should do as a last resort if its really big and obvious and you're going out for a big night or something. This is because picking or squeezing your spots spreads them. This is true, my grandpa, who is a doctor drew diagrams and everything to show me why I shouldn't squeeze my spots and how it spreads them. The best thing to do is just wash your face and leave them well enough alone or put a bit of sudacrem on them overnight.

Sudacrem is an antiseptic cream (most often used on babies for nappy rash!) that you can put on spots every so often overnight (can't use it during the day because it goes on white)to reduce redness and swelling on big spots, it helps to heal then. Don't use it too regularily because it starts to lose effect and block up your pores but used sparingly it can really help.
