Reply 2

around 7 stone now. 50kg - I think that is about 8stone. prob what I should weigh then

Reply 3

Yeah I'm 5ft4 and the average weight for our height is 50-55 kilos which is roughly 8 - 8.5 stone. You gotta eat girl!

Reply 4

This depends on your age, your gender and your body build.

Take a look here. http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/calc-bmi.htm

I do eat! Just not as much as I used to. I used to weigh 9.4! So I must have been overweight? I'm not sure why i've lost so much weight.

Reply 6

age - 18, gender - female, body build.... not sure!

Reply 7

kind of scares me the thought of putting on all the weight i've lost. Is that normal?

Reply 8

Did you set out to lose the weight, as in a diet, or did you just start eating healthier and exercising more?
I'm 5'5 or 5'4 and I weigh 51kg, and i'm happy with that, although I used to be "rounder" and people commented that i'd lost a lot of weight, but it hadn't been through dieting, i think I just got taller and didn't gain a lot. I've been the same weight (give or take a kilo) since I was 12. Now 15.

I started off dieting, then just switched to eating healthier and exercising more (which could be classed as dieting, I dont know). Id like to maintain my weight, although i'm worried I might lose more.. and then feel like I have to lose more..and so on. It's hard to lose weight and keep it off without worrying about it a little.

Ok, right, do you think you have an unhealthya ttitude to food?

It may be worth checking into your local doctor, just to check up on yourself, yeah?

You basically should be eating between 1,400kcal (minimum) to 2,250, and exercising about 30mins a day 5 times a week.

Take care, yeah? If you need anything, please feel free to PM me. xxxx

I've lost quite a bit of weight recently and I think I might be slightly under weight. How much should a healthy 5'4 person weigh? round about ish

Depending on your age, build and gender- between 8- 10 1/2 stone (ish). I'm 5'4 and massive but I used to be underweight, when I went to an eating disorders unit they recommended I reached bmi 20 (about 8st 6) before I was discharged, but I think you can be healthy a little bit under this.
I think a better measure than your weight is how you feel- if you feel tired/lethargic, your skin is bad, you're scared of eating or putting on weight or you're underweight but still want to lose weight- it's time to relax the diet and maybe get some help. If you feel healthy + energetic, it might be that you've just got a small build or are quite muscular and your body is OK at the weight it is.

I'm 5ft3, and was told that I had to reach 50kg to be discharged, so lower than that, i.e. 7st is quite low. But, as Lucy said it depends on how you feel.

9 stone 4 overweight at 5 foot 4?? Man you must think me at 10 stone is huge although I am starting to lose weight again thankfully and should be down to 9stone by the beginning of next year at the latest.
It's not overweight. You are now actually UNDERWEIGHT according to the BMI thing if you're 7 stone. Although it doesn’t account for small bones or an athletic build. However if you feel okay I don’t think it really matters how much you weigh. Just get to a place where you can say I feel comfortable and try to maintain it is all. PM me if you want to okies.

Equation for B.M.I-
Weight in Kg/height(m)

Under 20=underweight
20-25=healthy(though if you're nearing 24-25, a bit of exercise shouldn't hurt)
25-30=overweight
30+=obese.

I'm 16, 5ft3 and weigh about 51kg...A couple of years ago I was really overweight-57.7kg!!

Still, remember health is more important than appearance-really!

I'm 5ft 11 and 8.7 stone (medium build), 16% bodyfat...thats surely underweight, if the OP isnt...

Reply 16

BMI isn't a perfect guide.. its a good guideline but body fat percentage is better to go by, but I guess I would say that considering my own build: with muscle weighing more in relation to mass its difficult to maintain a normal BMI level while training with weights for whatever reason.
