Measles anyone??

Hey all...

Just wondering if anyone has had this measles virus that is going around?? Didnt realise I had it, just felt exhausted, horrible cough, then these little spot like rashes started up my wrists - thought i was allergic to something... turns out 2 of my friends have the same marks, they went to doctors and have the measles - apparantly having the marks means your no longer contageous! (cant spell lol).

So wondering....if this Britain wide, any advice...etc. etc. anyone else got it?

I was vaccinated with MMR TWICE!!!

Once when i was like 4 months...and then again last summer (i.e july) because doctors didnt have evidence i had it when i was ickle!! Got mumps straight after injection and now measles!!!

One of my other friends was MMR'd when she was little too...So really confused!! Vaccinations work - normally!

I had 4 vaccines agains measels in total (2 for measels on its own when I was a child and 2 MMRs when I come to UK and practise nurse sort of forced it on me without a point realy as I had mumps and rubella before) and to my amazment when the blood tests where done by occupational health department at med school it reviled that I have no antibodies gains measels what so ever. Nurse was only to happy to give me 3rd MMR but after my protest she finaly consulted the virologist who said that there is no point. Apparently about 0.1% of population does not respond to the vaccine and I am one of unlucky ones. So the moral of my rather long story is : being vaccinated does not guarantee that you will not get the disease.
