hello,
maybe this thread has been done before. I dont know, if it has sorry!
I just thought that it would be nice to meet ppl who will be studying at bath 2006. U know, so that we can meet before hand, and then wouldnt feel awkward when freshers week starts. so its just bascially a conversation-gettting-to-know-u thread......

okay okay!!!
okay, i am not in the u.k. i think that was pretty much understood. I am sri lankan, but i have an american accent???? weird. yes i know. and to add to that, i study in the middle east.
according to my friends i am generally shy at first, but have a good sense of humour...don't know if thats a good thing, coz i laff at anything!lol
i chose bath as my firm because it offers the best architecture course by far and has quite a reputation according to teachers and architects themselves over here.
real name>? sorry, i never give that out on the net. But dont worry i aint some weirdo just chatting for self-satisfaction!!!!
and drozdek..i am a she.
well, what about u ppl??? what r u hoping to study?? and what r u'll like?

Hi!
My name is Tania, I am absolutely fascinated by economics and virtually can't live without it! I'm really looking forward to studying and living in Bath, I loved it both times I went there and the course is fantastic - best one I came across. I plan to take post A-Level German as one of the options and take it through to the end of the course. I love German, I've been studying it for 11 years now >.< I think I will take the industry placement year, I think it's brilliant!

I like music, playing tennis [badly], playing badminton, I like writing poems (only in Russian so far, but may be I will write in English one day). For my A-Level subjects see my sig... Oh and by the way, I'm Russian and from Siberia, and very proudly so!!

I live in London (South Woodford) with my mum and my younger brother (17), I don't have any other family in England. I hate underground but I love buses and trains (ooh yeah!), and I like quite place like my area, my town in Siberia and Bath a lot more that cosmopolitan cities like London. I haven't been anywhere abroad, only Russia and England (well, and Kazakhstan), but I want to go to Germany this summer or may be next year.

So yeah, very nice to meet you

Tania x

hi tania!!
nice to meet u too. cool siberian and russian!!
Lots of my friends have chosen to do economics as well, if u can, please enlighten me on this course, coz i never quite understood how ppl can luv it so much!! as i never took it!
a real language person too..poetry? not bad, one of my friends does that too, her poems are real nice they are always subtle and never direct so it lets the reader imagine instead of be lectured. hihi, i guess i won't be able to have the chance to read ur poems then!
well, u already have a profile on me above in the posts!! so i can't really say much!
maybe i'll see u there!

hi!
I'm Samiu but pals call me Justin & I'd be studying Automotive Engineering. I'm also orginally from South Asia like wackysparkle. I already finished my A Levels & have got an unconditional offer so my place at Bath is pretty much confirmed already!
I love motorsports, dancing, music (especially trance), etc. I enjoy partying but I also take my studies very seriously :p:
I'm currently learning french!
I also love to explore new horizons, new culture, new....
thats pretty much it.. i'm never that good at writing about myself

P.S. Tania, would you help me learn russian & german at uni?
Considering my specialised course, germany is the ideal country to venture across... & I'm very eager to learn german (though I've heard german's tougher than french, spanish,...)

if u don't mind me askin. How come 'justin'?
lucky u, i wish i got an unconditional offer, but i have to get three As to get into my course!!!!!!
french is a real intersting language, i took it since i was in year 3 right up to GCSE level. (I got an A * :>) when ur learning it u are soon able to make connections between english, and french and even be able to understand about latin. as soon as u master the basics its easy to string up a sentence coz all the verbs follow a pattern.

^ Exactly. You only need to start! I love it being able to speak three language absolutely fluently, and when looking at any impression two or even three languages are "together" on it, and other times all three languages offer different versions Ok, not the most comprehensible explanation

lol its a big & somewhat weird story
i'll save the story for the fresher's week :p: ... but now hardly anyone calls me Samiu (except formally) so I just dont get into the hassle of saying different names to different people.
and I like this nick over the others ... so there you go!

well easier saying than learning  I'm finding the whole masculine/feminine thing in french sooo creepy. Why on earth do they have to add an article before every noun? & there's no way of predicting which noun is M and which is F!
after 1 month of intensive learning, I can now start off a conversation by saying "Salut! Ca va?" followed by some introductory sentences & end up saying "au revoir"! oh and the pronunciation of alphabets like 'r' 'y' seem to cause all sorts of problems!

je parle un peu francaise!
