Career in events HELP! Uni or not????

I'm meant to be going oxford brookes in 3 days (Saturday) studying international hospitality. I'm simply doing it because people tell me a degree will help me alot in the industry. Do I? or would me not going uni and getting a job in the industry straight away better? please help me quickly because i go soon and not sure if i want to go or not.

The other question is that all my friends are excited to go Uni. I'm not excited I just see it as something I have to do. Probably because I prefer staying with my parents and in the place I am. So do you think its a really bad decision going Uni. And also I went to Oxfordshire today and the place just doesnt look very nice!

I deferred my year! Everything was telling me not to go. But hey that's just me. Don't take my example as that you shouldn't go then. I just don't think uni is for me.
