I really do not think you have to be very talented when rapping as you do not even have to be able to sing. Pop you have to be abale to sing moderately, but there is no real need for playing instruments.
Rock you have to be able to sing (in various degrees) and play instruments.
But freestyling is hard, as you got to improvise on the spot.

I personally do not consider freestyling as music, although others may.

    Metal. Easily.

    Followed by classical.

(I'm talking about real metal (eg. Opeth) by the way, not nu metal)

Not which is your favourite but which do you feel contains the most talented artists. Is this the same as your favourite genre? Extra respect shall be given to people willing to admit that a genre other than their favourite contains the most talent.

I personally think the rock/alternative genre has the most. Write their own songs, play their own instruments, and obviously the ones that get the furthest tend to be pretty good at it as well.

Edit - it's also the music I most enjoy listening to!
I think rock/alternative too - radiohead *worship them* for example, REM, beatles, etc

favourite genre though is punk/ska core - I wouldn't necessarily say they are most talented though...altho....they did have The Clash

Exactly. Extreme metal and prog are by far the most talented genres around.

It depends what you define as "talent".

Technically, jazz players like Chick Corea or Greg Howe have anyone beaten hands down. A lot of classical players would even struggle to replicate their improvised lines.
