any advice on what to wear for religious confirmation?

hello

im being confirmed into the Catholic Church next saturday night, and i was wondering what to wear. my mom says when she was confirmed, she wore a white dress, white socks, whie everything and so did everyone else from her Church of England school. but im 20 and i'd feel a bit ridiculous wearing a white dress and all. im converting from Church of England so im being confirmed with other converts. thing is they are all about 55-65 years old so i cant wear what they'd wear.

any ideas?

Hiya
I was confirmed when I was 15 or so. The old white dress/white socks thing is really old fashioned.
When I got confirmed, all the girls wore smart black pants and white shirts or a smart skirt and a white top. White is a definite but a dress I don't think so.

I was confirmed as a Roman Catholic a few years back, and I wore slate grey trousers, black shoes, a navy blue shirt and a lime green jacket. Went down a treat, but then again, my sponsor was a 6'4 black guy in a beige and blue suit :p:

Of all the people I know who were confirmed into the rc church, none of them wore white dresses, and alot didn't even wear white. They were just told to look smart, and to remember theyw ere in a church. ie. no short skirts, or low tops, or heavy makeup. Congrats. on yor confirmation btw.

The best outfit I ever did see was a white suit. Like a really nice classy one and its kinda traditional too. But also hot!!

Yeah, a white suit would be nice with a strong coloured top.

Just dress smart/casual. I'm sure there isn't prescribed dress code.

Nice trousers (avoid jeans) and a nice top. Keep it feminine and pretty - classic virginal, not brazen or slutty.
We were just told smart. I wore a black knee length-ish skirt with white and pink flowers, a black vest top and a pink cardie. Everyone else was in a variation of pretty much the same thing. Good Luck with yours!
When I got confirmed I was about 10 (11 years ago!!) and I have a photo so know that I wore a white long-sleeved top under a long blue dress- basically smart and neat.

When I got confirmed (C of E) I wore a knee length black skirt and a blue blouse, I was 11. Just don't wear a white top and black/grey trousers or skirt, or you'll look like a waitress as my mum told me
