Retainer help
Hi
I just recently got my retainers but my orthodontist didnt tell me much except to wear them all the time aprt from eating and brushing for 6 months.
Is there anything else I need to know? Do i need to clean them and if so how often and what with?

I used to keep a pot in the bathroom with some warm water or mouthwash and just used to put my retainer in it to keep it clean, and give it a brush with your toothbrush every few weeks. Other than that they're fine.
Yep, Genna's right- you can soak them in some mouthwash, or alternatively just brush them with a toothbrush a bit when you take them out to brush your teeth.
I think you can get special retainer cleaners from places like Boots and other chemists- a common one is called "Retainer Brite", but I have never tried it so I can't comment on how well it works.

I use retainer brite, and tbh its pretty useless, it doesn't get rid of any retainer plaque, I get better results froom brushing with toothpaste...

Like everyone else, I brush mine with toothpaste, and then place it in a pot of mouthwash, or water.
