My fingers have been puffed up for absolutly ages (befroe xmas afaik) arund the knuckles, and the skin is all cracked and dry. :frown: Any ideas what it could be?

Did the same thing happen last winter? Have you been using any new lotions etc recently?
I have a friend who has extremely painful hands throughout winter because of the cold. Her fingers go purple and her hands are extremely dry.. can even become scabby. She hasn't yet found a solution to this, apart from avoiding the cold and applying large amounts of very expensive moisturiser..
Could be a problem with circulation in your hands.. ask a doctor!

I have some friends in the army, when they come back from exercises in winter I noticed their fingers are all dry and cracky and puffy, proper yuck!

I confronted them about it and they told me it was just because of the cold, it affects some people more than others though.

So keep them warm, moisturise, keep your fluids up and maybe try some antihistamines - i think you can get antihistamine cream or even just taking general allergy/hayfever tablets may help.

Didn't happen last winter, I've been moisturising them a lot, but is making little difference, just stopping them cracking so much.
Puffy fingers? I thought this thread would be about gay men and their adventures.
