And me, I suck arse at S2.
3. No body is helping. So sad. ;(
4. The idea of the null hypothesis is that it is null (negative) i.e. it is always that what ever you are testing for has no effect. So for example, a particular drug kills a person and is given to 500 people. A week later 450 of those people are dead state a null hypothesis and an alternate hypothesis.
Null hyp: The drug does not kill the people.
Alternate: The drug does kill the people.

You then carry out the statistical test to either prove your alternate hyp correct of false.

Sorry the example is so morbid but i doubt you will forget it!!!
