Despite the long hours I think that I will enjoy it!

Just thinking about it though, is it classed as front or middle office?

I'm reasonably confident that it's middle office.

Neither am I, which means you probably should take whatever I say about I&F with a pinch of salt (for now at least :p:).

Ah thanks for explaining brian, that explains it. Always thought IBD + FI = front office, but didn't know that MA was a subset of IBD.

Wtf? If you don't know, don't say it as you'll misguide people. M&A is as front as you can get.

Just out of curiosity, what in M&A attracts you to it? You obviously know very close to nothing about it..

Front office without a shadow of a doubt. In fact, many guides to IB will tell you that it's the bread and butter of IB. If you're interested in it, do some reading on it, and you'll soon see that there's no need for confusion about what it's classed as.

I was once interested in going into IBD... strange I know!!

The more I learned about it (which became a fair bit), the less interested in it I became. To the point where I was turned off by it.
