What does everyone think about us actually starting to produce resolutions, debate them, amend them and vote on them?
It seems that might increase interest in the debate here and actually be a bit more productive than simply discussing with no real result at the end for the most part, as we do now.
And if we need a kick start, I have at least a dozen resos stashed away on my computer that I could put up for debate.
    Anyway, views?

I like the idea, I believe we passed one on the repeal of the Repeal of Resolution 32/40 (or something like that) not too long ago, but it would be nice to see them becoming a bigger part in the MUN.

I support the idea. The MUN needs resolutions.

I would agree to that. If you want to post a resolution idea, go ahead. I'd enjoy the debate

OK well, I haven't actually got one written specifically from a US perspective (because I've never represented the US) but I have one I wrote recently that could easily be. It's regarding "Reviewing the Use of Force and the UN Charter", which should make for an interesting debate. I'll sort out the formatting soonish and then put it up. Should I include a poll or should we have a discussion/debate/amendment thread and a separate poll afterwards?

Discussion/debate/ammend then seperate voting seems to work best, gives time for peopel to make up their minds, be swayed etc.

Ah yes, we do need a formalised system of debate on resolutions. Excellent.

ye thats a good idea. we could try to revive the whole hypothetical thingie too - maybe there should be a sticky where people post possible ideas, then every week the GM chooses one and posts all the details
