Arms too thin

Hi, Ive always been small (5ft) and really tiny and skinny, im 19. My wrist is only 1 and 3/4 inches across so my arms are really thin (3 1/2 inches at the top) and my waist is 24 inches but Id say my legs are quite big or normal. Im really self conscious about my arms and being thin though expecially when my friends sister (who is 11) is taller and bigger than me! Ive never really worn a sleeveless top cause I hate thin arms, I assume this puts guys off since guys like normal size girls, Ive thought about going to the gym but it might not work Id probably just look stupid with muscly arms when everything else is thin lol. Ive tried eating more but the weight seems to go to my thighs. I used to do a lot of long distance running which probably didn't help.

Is there any way to get a bigger build overall?

Do some bicep curls innit.

It always amazes me the amount of people who say "I don't want to workout cuz I might get really big arms/<insert body part here>"

Almost as if you think if you workout once you will wake up the next day being huge, it doesn't work like that, its progressive, if you don't like the way it looks after a few months or whatever then stop doing it/change it.

Bicep curls are hardly going to make your arms big. Do something on your triceps instead

I love having skinny arms! But they're toned so that makes it ok I figure.. Just doing general cardio or very light weights repetitively should give them some shape without making you look like a man. Mine are generally from doing a lot of running and swimming when I was younger.

You won't get big overnight LOL

It takes years of dedication with a proper diet/workout plan to get 'big'.

Exactly, even more so if you're a girl. Where you have no chance of being remotely big unless you take large amount of steroids.

When I was 15 I got a bit obsessed with pressups/situps and did quite a few every morning for 2 years which probably hasn't helped. I guess I'l try using dumbells every other day or something then:confused:

My ones are tiny too - trust me its a good thing to have a small bone structure! People would kill for one these days.
i have very skinny arms as well, i hate wearing sleeveless tops so i always wear a jacket, even if its warm
I have skinny arms too and my wrist is tiny, that every time I buy a bracelet or watch, I have to get soo many links removed. Mr arms are long too, skinny and long and I hate them, weight never seems to go on them, no matter how much I eat and I dont want to turn them into muscly arms. All tops/coats hang on the arms.

I can sympathise- I'm 5"4 ish and my mother and (older) sister are even shorter and therefore smaller than me.

Pressups aren't bad, but they're mainly for the upper body rather than arms specifically. Do some curls, if you don't have weights you can use cans of beans or bottles.

Good luck!
